Log Ski Chalet Homes - Construction Stages

Preparation of the logs

We use high quality softwood to build the ski chalets from lumber logs. The first stage from the preparation is the lathe turning. The wooden logs are lathed and turned into girders with a round profile and 22 cm diameter. The processed material is being treated with a high quality impregnate from Sweden, which provides the wood with protection against damage from insects, termites and rotting caused by fungus, as well as protection against the so-called “blue colouring”. All of the impregnates used are completely safe/harmless for the people and the environment. They are products from leading European companies and have a certificate for quality.

Laying the chalet foundations

The laying of the concrete foundation is done according to a plan that adheres strictly to the norms and standards in case of earthquake and bending.

Construction of the chalet

This stage begins on the top of the completed chalet foundation. The walls are built from girders with 22 cm diameter crossed at their ends, which form the distribution of the rooms. The wooden houses have a light construction. Their weight is 15 times lower than  conventional buildings. This is why they are perfect for zones with landslides and terrains with weaker carrying capacity – such as sandy or clay terrains near the sea, for instance. The multi-layer structures of the walls, as well as the specifics of the material, have a coefficient of sound impermeability that is many times higher than other constructions.

Building the chalet roof

During this stage, a massive carrying construction of wooden girders is built, which completes the rough structure.

Water pipes, sewage system and electric installation

These installations are held mostly in the spaces between the walls and the floor. The electric cables have special dual insulation specifically designed for such wooden constructions. The water pipes are PVC and meet all standards and requirements, do not corrode and do not hold sediments.

Insulating the chalet roof

We use products of world famous companies, producers of insulation from mineral wadding. With their unique features – heat insulation, sound impermeability, resistance to moisture and steam, the insulation contributes to the comfort and coziness of the home.

Covering the chalet roof and installing the joinery/windows

We lay the cover of the roof. It can be from ordinary tiles, bitumen tiles, water impermeable waxed polyester, etc. The joinery is wooden with a glass that meets all European requirements for thermo and noise insulation. The wooden construction and the joinery form a natural thermo-bridge that prevents the moisture from condensation.

Final finishing of your ski chalet

Grinding, etching and polishing in the colours you desire give the house the look you have dreamed of.
