Log Chalet - Living in Harmony with your Environment

"There is nothing quite like the warm ambiance and enduring quality of a log home."

Why buy a Log Home?

Why are wooden log houses so popular?

A finely built, handcrafted Log Home is absolutely the
ultimate home to live in. It will not go out of style and it appreciates in value. Anyone who has ever stayed in a log home remembers the experience for life, the feel, the smell, everything about being inside one leaves an everlasting impression that you cannot get from any other home. And for most skiers, this is a dream that lasts a lifetime.

The dream, anticipation and excitement of having a log home are relived with every house that we build. Our passion for handcrafted log homes and the experience of building our own, led us to the business of building unique log homes for others.

It cannot be denied that wooden log houses are unique with the beauty, warm atmosphere and comfort they radiate. Large or small, they all look stunning, regardless of where in the world they are built.

Low-Energy Ecological Log Home

A log house, thanks to its materials and construction, is a low-energy home as it achieves a much better heat conductivity when compared with conventional buildings. This means that the house is cooler in summer and warmer in winter, than a standard build house.

This, in turn, means that the energy consumption for heating and cooling will be 35-40% lower when compared with conventional buildings. To this fact we add the good thermo isolation and the low inertness of the outer construction, which allows for fast heating or cooling of the rooms with minimal energy consumption.

Log Home Ecology

Since log homes do save energy and reduce the environmental impact through the use of renewable resources, they will play an important part in green building both now and in the future.

The addition of a bio-mass central heating system using renewable energy has both environmental and economic advantages.

Log Home Features:

  • The use of renewable resources - all wood used in the manufacture of our log homes are sourced from sustainable, managed forests.

  • All timber used in the construction of our log homes is high quality pine.

  • Log construction gives excellent thermal and sound insulation naturally. The day time heat of the sun is stored in the logs and then released in the cooler evenings with energy consumption for heating and cooling 35-40% lower than for conventional buildings. This means that the house is cooler in summer and warmer in winter, than a standard build house.

  • Modern log homes save more energy due to the excellent inherent insulation properties of solid wood.

  • Using large south facing windows allows effective collection of solar energy for passive heating of the interior of the log home.

  • The low inertness of the outer construction combined with our thermo isolation, further allows for fast heating or cooling of the rooms with minimal energy consumption.

  • Only ecological materials are used in the production and maintenance of our log homes. All timber is dipped in RESISTOL®, a unique metal-free preservative formulation, providing highly effective and long-term protection against fungal decay, insect and termite attack.

  • The weight of a log home is also substantially lower and foundations do not need to be as substantial leading to savings in concrete.

  • Other than for wet areas, such as the bathroom, the interior walls are made of timber requiring no gypsum/plaster.

  • The roofing material uses mineral felt made with waste shale instead of clay tiles that need to be dug up, shaped and baked in an oven.

  • Log walls provide an “in-built surface finish” to the interior and exterior of the log home, thus saving material and labour costs since the added layers other building materials are not required.

  • The expected life span of a log home is excellent, in fact the oldest occupied dwellings in the USA are log homes. Due to this excellent life span log homes have extremely good re-sale values especially when compared to more conventional homes.

Healthy Environment

With each passing day it is becoming more difficult for us to breathe freely – on the streets of the big cities, in front of the block we live in, at just about every common place that our busy schedule takes us to. This is the main reason why more people go back to nature.

It is a proven fact that a log home is much a healthier choice.  Not only do you find yourself in direct touch with nature, scientists have also established that people living in houses built from wooden logs are much less susceptible to allergies, than the inhabitants of conventional houses.

Dependable Service

We have taken away the complexities of owning your own home in Bulgaria. All you need to do is to reserve your log home and we do all the rest from architects to builders.

Ownership of the land can be given with the house if the new owners are either Bulgarian or if foreign we will set up a Bulgarian company for you which owns the land as part of the sale.

Resistance to Fire & Earthquake

Even though you may find it difficult to believe, a wooden log home is practically just as resistant to fire and earthquake as any ferro-concrete construction. This comes as a result of the materials used in the processing of the wood and its maintenance.

The lighter construction makes them more stable in an earthquake and more suitable for zones with weaker carrying capacity.
